Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor with WPDE-TV. Later, she was a the morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter for WCBD-TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor.
