Richard B. Cheney a notable businessman and public servant, is the vice president of the United States. Cheney is a prominent figure within Washington politics has worked with four presidents from the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush chose Cheney to be his running mate as vice president in July 2000 with a reference to his expertise and wisdom. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff for presidents, and he also worked in Congress and he was the Secretary of Defense. He's a man of integrity who is respected by Republicans and Democrats. Cheney explained that his responsibility as an adviser in Bush's administration is to act as a discreet but honest advisor. Cheney, who accepted the Republican Vice Presidential nominating in 2007 said he was looking forward to working alongside a president who will reach across political lines to work with opponents with confidence and to achieve a common objective. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He moved into Casper, Wyoming with his family at the age of 13. He was raised by his father who was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and directed the soil conservation district located in Casper.
